The Huron Joint Recreational District Board meets January-May and September- December on the first Monday of the month at 7:30pm, Huron Boat Basin. If you are interested in attending a Board Meeting, please call to be placed on the agenda, 419-433-8487.

Beginning January 1, 2001 the Park Board and the HJRD was combined to form one entity, expanding out to the Huron Township. This progress will allow township residents to participate in programs without non-resident fees, as well as begin the future development of any parks in new township housing developments. Cooperation between the government entities and schools district will improve recreational facilities district wide. The HJRD is made up of nine board members, three from each entity, City, Township and Schools with one elected official from each. Members are appointed by the governing body.

Role of the HJRD:
Advise elected officials on policy issues,  Interact with citizens on Parks and Recreation issues, Act as a sounding board for staff, be knowledgeable about the benefits that parks and recreation provide to our community and be a cheerleader for parks and recreation in the community
